CFLC Chronicles: Alternatives While Server Is Down

CFLC is having connectivity issues--we aren't connected and that's an issue!

The power surges caused this weekend by the thunderstorms fried our server. What this means to you is that you're not going to be able to get through to us via our Web pages or our e-mail until our server comes back from being repaired. We as yet have no ETA on its return.

In the meanwhile, please call the office to register for workshops and special events (407/644-9050) or if you need us for any reason.

If you're looking for the CFLC Reference Desk page, until we're back up, you can try using the page as it is archived on the Wayback Machine. The most recent revision there is from May 30, 2006 and is found here; the Spanish language Reference Desk page is from February 15, 2006 and is found here.

Thank you for your patience as we work toward resolving our technical difficulties.

Friday Fun Thing: April Fool's Day

This Friday Fun Thing is a Monday post, just because it's too good to pass up these wonderful April Fool's Day posts.

Check out the Google post about their new wireless delivery system...via your plumbing! Their new TiSP service is announced here. Be sure and click around the site; the puns are too funny to miss.

And on another Google note, the biblioblogosphere is abuzz with the announcement that Google has acquired OCLC...total world domination is near! The announcement (complete with screenshots) began at ALA TechSource with this brilliant collaborative post and it has been equally well analyzed with follow-up posts by Andrew Pace here and Karen Schneider here. Well worth the read. Nicely done!
